PRESENTATIONS: COLLINS EMEGHARA
Winding Road
The bird flies, the bird perches
the sun rises, the sun fades.
See no man and write him off
see no child and walk away.
A beggar can become a king,
a king become a beggar.
This life is never a straight road.
See no woman and write her off
see no child and walk away.
The heart warms, yet the heart chills
the hand gains and the hand loses.
Cast no child away
let no child be abandoned.
Never look down on any person.
Treat all people with equal respect
for the little pot when full can drown the blazing fire.
See no orphan and walk away
see no human and write him off.
The rain falls and the rain halts
the heart loves, yet the heart hates.
Nothing have I seen that so lingered
in these eyes of mine.
Be careful of what you do, or whom
you hold with your iron fist
for I've seen a king that emanated from the dump
and I've seen another king begging on the street.
This life is a winding road.
You'll never see the end from the beginning.
